Real Bayberry Wax Oversized Votive

A treasured Christmas tradition, rich in history and holiday charm.

One of our most anticipated holiday favorites is back! We sell out of real bayberry candles every year, and it's easy to understand why. Made from the rare, natural wax of bayberry shrubs, these beautiful oversized votives carry on a Christmas tradition that dates back to colonial America.

Early American settlers discovered that boiling bayberries produced a small amount of precious wax, which they carefully collected to make candles for special occasions. Because the wax was so difficult to produce, bayberry candles became a treasured holiday tradition, often burned on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.

Our Real Bayberry Wax Oversized Votive has a subtle, natural fragrance that comes entirely from the bayberry wax itself, with no added artificial fragrances.

Why You'll Love It:

• Made from genuine, natural bayberry wax
• Subtle fragrance with no added artificial scents
• A meaningful tradition dating back to colonial America
• Beautiful for Christmas and New Year's celebrations
• A thoughtful hostess gift or stocking stuffer
• From Punta Gorda, Florida

The Bayberry Tradition

According to an old holiday custom, burning a bayberry candle all the way down on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve is said to bring good luck and prosperity in the coming year.

As the traditional saying goes:

"A bayberry candle burned to the socket brings food to the larder and gold to the pocket."

Whether you're continuing a family tradition or beginning a new one, a real bayberry candle is a lovely way to bring a little history, warmth, and meaning into your holiday celebrations.

A customer favorite year after year, and one that never stays on our shelves for long!

Always burn candles in a suitable holder, within sight, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
